Vineyard: Frank Saviez vineyard is nestled by the San Joaquin River in the shadow of the picturesque Sierra Nevada Mountains. Here, the sparse soil and evening breezes off the river help to produce Syrah grapes with concentrated aroma and flavor.
Tasting Notes: This Syrah has a medium ruby red color, notes of plum, black cherry, violet wrapped in toasty oak. Luscious flavors of dark berries, subtle tannin, long finish.
Wine Making: Cold soaked for 4 days before fermentation with pastor red wine yeast. After primary fermentation, the wine was inoculated with malolactic bacteria. After, it was put into new and used French and American oak barrels and aged for 19 months.
